“All the good music has already been written by people with wigs and stuff.”
Originally from Glasgow, I began my musical journey studying classical guitar before earning a BMus in Music at the University of Aberdeen. I later moved to Edinburgh to complete an MSc in Composition for Screen at the University of Edinburgh — where I found the perfect blend of creative freedom and cinematic structure.
Since then, I’ve written and produced music across a wide range of projects — from award-winning short films and government campaigns to experimental electronic releases under the name Foldt, Expand. My compositions have been featured on the BBC, in cinemas, across social media, and on various international platforms.
Highlights include:
Nominee, European Talent Award – Soundtrack Cologne 14
Winner, Best Scottish Short Film – Edinburgh Short Film Festival for TOM CAT
Two EPs released on Deadhand Records as Foldt, Expand
I’m drawn to projects that blend structure and stillness, emotion and architecture — often exploring the expressive potential of voice, silence, and sound design in equal measure.
